Shaping Futures One Scholarship At A Time

Dr. Erica Lynn Slater spent her whole life helping kids reach for success through athletics in order for them to build a foundation to continue their education. She followed many of these kids from their youth to young adulthood. She was an avid athlete herself and formed a community track team for at-risk kids. She then attended Howard University where she earned a Doctorate of Pharmacy degree.

However, in 2013, Erica was diagnosed with a rare illness that took her life. She left a legacy of promise and made sure that her family and friends would continue her effort of giving back to children in need. 

The ELS Foundation was formed on Erica’s behalf to help at-risk students prepare for college. The foundation funds scholarships to ensure that these students can access the vital tools needed to get started and provide them with an opportunity for excellence–even in her absence.
